Casque à pointe Oldenburg OJR91 nominatif Bataille Belgique ou Marne
Casque à pointe modèle 1895 du Oldenburg Infanterie Regiment Nr 91.
Bien marqué OJR91 - 3B pour 3ème bataillon.
Réceptionné comme il se doit au B.A.X en 1909.
Tampon du fabricant. Nominatif au Müsketier R. Gerdes II.
On retrouve un Müsketier Gerdes II dans la liste des pertes publiée le 8 octobre 1914, soldat dans la 9ème compagnie...donc du 3ème bataillon.
Le OJR91 faisait partie de la 19 I.D. donc ce soldat, qui a été blessé, l'a certainement été soit durant les prises de Liège ou Namur, soit à la bataille du Petit Morin, bataille de la Marne.
Casque M1895 à garnitures laiton, aigle Koenig avec centre maillechort aux armes du Oldenburg. Le percement de la plaque est haut, et désaxé, il est possible que l'aigle soit un remplacement. Bombe non repercée. Bonne jugulaire, cassé sur l'une de ses extrémités. Bonne cocarde Reich M91, bonne cocarde Oldenburg M67 (légèrement plus grande qu'une M91 mais peu visible à l'oeil) que j'ai ajouté car manquante lors de la découverte.
Les casques OJR91 ne sont pas rares....mais ceux bien marqués au régiment le sont !

named to soldier R. Gerdes II of the 3rd battalion.
I find a Gerdes II in the casualties list of october 8th, 1914.
As the OJR91 was part of the 19th Infantry Division, Gerdes was wounded during the siege of Liège or Namur, or at the battle of Petit Morin, the 1st Marne battle.
Helmet is in very good condition, all parts are genuine, the eagle plate could be a replacement because the holes to screw the center are high and unbalanced; the strap is broken, and I add the Land cockade that was missing (I add a M1867 pattern, diameter 51mm, just a little larger than the M91 cockade that mesure 48 mm).
Not difficult to find an OJR91 helmet.....but with the good unit marking is scarce ! .
